The Poetry Virgins used to gather round Julia’s kitchen table with bottles of wine and nibbles, bouncing around ideas for poems and performances and laughing. They wrote about cars, bras, birth and politics and much more.
This is your chance to join The Poetry Virgins, including Charlie Hardwick, Kay Hepplewhite, Fiona MacPherson and Ellen Phethean, as they revive the bonhomie and creativity for one more night.
Come along and be prepared to join in – make suggestions, write, share and listen. There’ll be food and drink, talk and reminisce, writing on-the-spot games, poetry consequences and limericks. Some of your work will go into a final reading and, to round off the event, there’ll also be a poetry jukebox where you can request your favourite poems for The Poetry Virgins to read. There may be some surprise guests too.
