Presenting new poems commissioned in celebration of Julia Darling’s work on poetry and health and selected work from Julia’s poetry collections. As Julia herself said, “Poetry is essential, not a frill or a nicety. It’s a powerful force, which can help us through the darkest times.”

This is a free event, but space is limited. Tickets are available from the Webstore or by contacting Melanie Birch (melanie.birch@ncl.ac.uk | 0191 208 7619).

You may wish to make a donation to the Newcastle cancer charity, ‘Charlie Bear’ in lieu of the usual ticket price. The event will be led by Cynthia Fuller and Christy Ducker and includes the launch of the 2015 Flambard Poetry Prize.
